Very good choice!

There are becoming more and more good companies that are distributing PURE FISH OIL, and this is a good thing.

The important this is to buy PHARMACITICAL GRADE fish oil.

When you say, "little to no" mercury, I am concerned. I want NO mercury. I bought NOW fish oil, and it says no mercury at all. Can I trust them?

vitalchoice publishes there strict testing.

lets see the results from the testing done on your fish oil company.

Alaskan sockeye salmon are among the purest of all ocean fish, consistently testing free of hazardous levels of contaminants. They are also richest of all salmon species in the powerful biological antioxidant, astaxanthin, a natural carotenoid that imparts a rich red color to our oil and eliminates the need for added tocopherols present in other brands. Natural EPA and DHA levels in our capsules reflect those actually found in wild salmon, enhancing bioavailability and reducing the risk of over consumption that may exist in highly concentrated, denatured alternatives.

Alaskan Sockeye Salmon Oil Capsules

The world's only salmon oil supplement certified by the Marine Stewardship Council as originating from 100% sustainably harvested fish. Good for you and the wild salmon resource too! Click here to read the MSC press release.

"To reduce the risk of sudden death from cardiac disease eat fish at least twice weekly or consider daily fish oil capsules"
--Harvard Health Publications

Our fish oil capsules contain ONLY pure Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon Oil. Each 1000 mg softgel provides approximately 260 mg of total omega-3 fatty acids, including 150 mg of EPA and DHA. In addition, laboratory analysis reveals an amazing 32 distinct additional fatty acid molecules you’re unlikely to find in highly processed "purified" alternatives. (More here.) Truly a unique health-promoting product. Purity and potency tested and certified by NSF International.

180 x 1000 mg Pharmaceutical Grade Softgels

You cannot find a fish on the planet with lower mercury levels than wild alaskan red sockeye salmon

"The risk of mercury in salmon appears to be minimal. In fact, the FDA states that limiting consumption is unnecessary for salmon"

If you don't know the source of the fish oil, I wouldn't ingest it.

Lot of companies use shitty rancid fish to cut costs, and at that price I would certainly be leary.

Good point Holysmoke. I used to work for the company that made this stuff. I got to visit the assembly lines and got to see the raw product so I know it's good. The secret in keeping the price down is volume of sales.

Here is a statement from their web site-
"USP has tested and verified ingredients, potency and manufacturing process. USP sets official standards for dietary supplements."

This stuff is supposedly free of mercury. I'll do some more research to give some links.

Here's a link to the manufacturer of the fish oil I take along with an excerpt from the site-

http://www.leiner.com/LEN_InvestorInformation/PressReleases/Articles/fishoil071304.htm

FISH OIL SUPPLEMENTS SAFER THAN FISH AS
SOURCE OF OMEGA-3 ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS

All fish oil used in Leiner fish oil supplements undergoes a process called molecular distillation. This process virtually eliminates contaminants such as PCBs, dioxins, and heavy metals to below detectable levels. Like a water purification process, molecular distillation traps nearly all contaminants in the fish oil, resulting in a “cleaner” product.

While it is impossible to remove 100% of all impurities, Leiner fish oil processed using molecular distillation exceeds purity standards set by California’s Proposition 65 requirements and the EPA requirements, which are much more rigorous than those of FDA. Leiner also requires all of its fish oil suppliers to use wild fish caught in deep water rather than farm raised salmon which may contain contaminants.

Any experience with "fish burps" - or (hopefully) lack thereof - with this particular supplement?

Thanks for the great info, and sorry if it seems like a silly quesiton.

I have problems with "vitamin burps" if I take vitamins on an empty stomach. No problem with the fish oil as they come in a softgel form that takes a little while to dissolve.

Most of the time I just take vitamins and fish oil softgels with the leftover soda after I eat my meal so it's no problem.

quantum,

the point of this post is to show that Wild Alaskan Red Sockeye Salmon is the best source of omega 3.

This fish has amazing health properties, don't pass it up.

30 dollars for 3 months.

vitalchoice is the best company making fish oil.

have you ever seen PBS with Dr. Nicholas Perricone?

He wrote the perricone prescription and he says this particular salmon species has the most abundant source of omega 3 and it is naturally a pure fish.

thanks for the posts

No one has mentioned the fact you will bust some big nuts on this stuff.

It's rediculous. Have a wash cloth handy if youre a pull out type.
